I really want to WILL buy this game!

Sometimes I’m amazed at the world we live in. The above video shows a lighting system developed by Brilldea. The columns are actually plastic, with sets of red, blue, and green leds behind them, all contolled by a central computer. The results are amazing. It looks like something straight out a sci-fi movie. If you are as amazed by this as I am (could you imagine having entire walls made like this?), then you’ll want to check out their YouTube channel for more videos of the work they’ve done.

Oh yeah, we’re throwing a party for Dee this friday night. 80’s theme. Hoping enough people show up for it to be worth our energy. LAUREN ISN’T COMING. WTF. Either is Josh but, meh, I can’t say I’m surprised. I mean, I’ve blown off every party he’s thrown since he moved to Chicago, and that includes the one he’s having Saturday. I just… I do not like techno/house/not made with insturments music. I feel bad about it though. Kinda.

I love having new sheets, they’re so nice and not dingy and new. Redundent enough for you there? These are like, a sagey green, though you can’t really see it all that well in the photo. The fitted sheet had elastic ALL THE WAY AROUND. I’ve never seen that before and was pretty confused by it when making the bed. Regardless though, I should sleep pretty good tonight. No, that is a lie, I never get a good sleep anymore.

So, I downloaded the Army of Two SSC Challenge gameplay mode last night off of Xbox Live for 600ms points because my BITCH of a friend Dee pushed me into it, and I secretly wanted to anyway. HOWEVER, now I wish I would have just kept my credit card in my wallet, because it is FUCKING USELESS! The gameplay mode looks like it would be fun, but no one is ever on to play it! Like, you have to make a custom game, because quick match is always the old versus modes (which are just fucking annoying tbh) and no one ever fucking joins. I left one open for 20 minutes last night waiting. OH WELL. At least I still have 400 points left to buy some cool Xbox Live Arcade game.

We grilled today. I think I will start grilling every single day. I mean, it is so tasty, and just fun times. Plus, it’s really pretty cheap. Oh yeah, check out this E.T. I made in the Spore Creature Creator. I’m pretty sure this mother fucker is going to haunt my dreams.

I sent in a portfolio to the local newspaper about 2 months ago. Earlier this month I got a call from them telling me they liked it, and that a new position was opening up at the end of the month and that they wanted me to come apply for it! That’s all taken care of and hopefully by this time next month I’ll be a graphic artist for the Daily Chronicle. Also, I need to start looking for a new apartment really badly because the lease at this one is up in August. That is not good times. I’d just renew it except this place is kinda shitty, and all my roommate hates it so, yeah.

Not much to report on the gaming front. I still haven’t beaten GTA IV, just can’t seem to give a shit enough to play it. Started playing Civilization IV though, that game is the shit. Only problem is the games get so long and drawn out that by the end Dee and I are so burnt out that it just kills all motivation to move. Played Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Meh. I’ve been playing DoA4 and jesus, so broken and cheap. Still kinda fun though, I guess. I got Army of Two back from my friend Brian, and Dee and I played through the new maps. They’re awesome, seriously polished. I wish the whole game had looked so slick. Bought the new game mode too, but we couldn’t get anyone to play it last night. D: Been playing with the Spore Creature Creator. Pretty cool little toy!

I joined the beta for this social network called Brightkite. It’s kinda like twitter but more location based. You can still posts messages, photos, and communicate, but the main bulk of it is checking in with locations. It’s actually pretty sweet. If you want an invite, hit me up. I think I have 5 left?

Oh, and the candy dispenser. Found it at Wal-Greens while shopping for a card for my Mom for her birthday. It looks just like a Wiimote and shoots candy like a fucking gun. I’ll just let the photos explain.

Ain’t that a bitch?

So, I got GTA IV Monday night. So far it totally is living up to my expectations. The single player story is easily the best in the series. Nico, the main character, is actually a likable guy, which is a first in my experience with GTA games, and he’s pretty funny too. The story line develops at a great pace. It’s not too fast, which is another first with GTA games, but doesn’t really feel like it’s dragging on either. Anytime I’m not in a mission, I’m either checking emails at the internet cafe, named TW@, or hanging out with characters from the game. That brings up another great aspect of the game. While some connections are still purely business, there are others that are also friends. And like friends in the real world, you have to hang out with them sometimes. That means playing pool, shooting darts, getting a drink, or even just having lunch together. Another awesome touch is that, finally, you don’t need to jack a car to get around when you want to go somewhere. You can just hail a cab, and then sit back and look around at the city from your backseat window as you ride along. All in all, while it’s still a GTA game, it has such a fresh feeling that makes you feel like you’re playing something totally new.

Speaking of totally new, the multiplayer is great! Even standard deathmatches, which I’m usually not a fan of, are good times. Whether you’re shooting someone in the head, or running them down in an SUV, it’s always fun. My favorite mode, so far anyway, has to be Cops N Crooks though. Basically, your assigned a role, cop or crook. If you’re a crook, you have to escort a randomly assigned “boss” to an escape vehicle then make sure he survives on it. The cops can see you on their radars, but they can’t see where the escape vehicle is. As a cop, you have to kill the crook “boss.” You can see the crooks on your radar, but they can’t see you. In my first time playing, I was a cop, and within minutes of the beginning of the round, I had put a bullet through the boss’s head. Then the game flipped and I played as a crook. We managed to get the boss to the vehicle safely, and killed quite a lot of cops while cracking a million stupid jokes. It was really fun. Really fun.
