New Laptop & Life Updates

So my birthday was April 2nd. I meant to post an update then, but I was busy, being drunk. One of the things I got was this laptop. It is really pretty amazing. I think it is safe to say that I love it and any doubts I had about owning a laptop are gone. More blah blahs about blah blah below the cut.
One of my favorite things about the laptop is this little remote that was included with it. I can control it from bed when listening to music and shit, and it fits perfectly in the card slot on the side of laptop. That alone makes me love it because it means I won’t lose it. One downside of the new laptop is no header image for posts because my old tablet uses a serial port. A SERIAL PORT. That is such a sign of age. Oh well, that thing needed to be retired anyway. I really need to buy a new Wacom to carry about with the lappy. I’m looking at the Bamboo Fun in black because… I dunno. I just like the feel of it.
Dee bought me a copy of Army of Two for the 360. The game is just too much fun. I haven’t tried the online mp yet, but playing the game in co-op is just amazing. Playing it with the computer AI though is just disappointing. For that reason, I only play it when Dee is over. I got a copy of CoD4 too, finally.
Saturday night Dee and I went to the Cobra Lounge in Chicago to see this band, White Hot Knife. They are fucking awesome. I’d only heard her cd up to that point, and man, those didn’t hold a candle to the live show. Those guys had so much energy and talent. It was such a blast. The band before them, Holding Mercury, was really good too. Had a great sound and were pretty funny during the setup. Near the end of WHK’s set, some dude from the band’s crew walked up to Dee and I and handed us each a copy of their new EP and then walked back into the crowd. Being singled out to be given each an EP made us both feel pretty pimp. Not sure if it was a result of talking to the drummer before the set or of talking to the lead singer, Matt, of Holding Mercury after their gig. Either way, good times.
After the show we were both starved so we decided to go eat. We were going to go to this place called Clark’s, but decided on going the GayHop, an IHOP in the middle of Boy’s Town. It should have been an easy trip, but like idiots, we went right instead of left at our first turn, and that was it. Lost. For two hours. We wound up in Oakpark like, three times. It was amazing. We would leave, driving in a straight line, then be back in Oakpark. It was like some sort of demon dimension that would not let us out of its grip. We did finally make it to gayhop and it was amazing. That food just tasted so good at that point.
Oh yeah, I rearranged my room due to the new laptop, I think it looks pretty good now. What do you think?
