New year, New face.

Well, like I mentioned a couple posts back, I decided to update DC.O to look more like my LJ so that I could have a common theme running across them both. That’s how I started anyway. As I was working I kept having new ideas and this design is the end result. A simple one post layout with a menu system at the bottom. Amazingly, this is NOT a Hemingway hack. Also, this was my first time making a theme that uses widgets, and uses three sets of them at that. It kind of breaks the design of the sidebar widgets setup page in WP, but it works.
Soon, I may be making a post called “New year, New place.” as I applied for this great apartment in downtown DeKalb. Hopefully I’ll hear back from the landlord soon as I really like the place. If I don’t however, I’ve decided I may just give up on DeKalb altogether. This place is getting old, and I fear I’ll never be more than a gas station clerk if I stay here.
I was talking about it with Annette and she said she’d help me look for a cheap but nice place in the city if I don’t get the place here. Of course first I’d find a job in Chicago, but with a different approach than before. Rather than go all out trying to find this diamond in the rough, I’m going to just find a job like the one I have now. It will be a hell of a commute initially for a crap job, but with as much cash as I have saved up now, I shouldn’t have to do it long. I’m sure I could stay with Arin or Annette sometimes too, if I needed to.
Tonight is Chrissy’s birthday, well it’s when we’re celebrating anyway. Going to head down to Lord Stanley’s and toss back beers and have good times. Damn Walsh, he has to work at midnight! What is that!? Oh well, maybe he can hang out for a hour or two. Oh! The headphones I bought, they’re so nice! The sound quality is much better than expected, and they just work so well. I’m going to pick up a bluetooth usb adapter and see how well they work on the laptop.
